R. F. Rose, would you be looking for Durritt Rose who was dropped into the Cat Hole by his wife Elizabeth and his brother Berry Rose. Bobby Lake`s father, Horse Lick Charley, once took me to the "Cat Hole" It was a hole in the roof of a cave. Mr. Lakes said that he once cleared off the hill side around the hole and rolled the logs into the hole. Evidently the surrounding soil had washed into the hole on top of the log pile for I could climb down the slope of dirt to the bottom of the cave. So if there is anything to the story that Durrittt Rose was murdered by his wife and brother, Berry, and thrown into the cave through the hole in the roof, then he is buried under tons of dirt and old logs. As to the exact location I don`t remember, I talked with Bobby just now and he said to take Ky Hwy 1955 to where it crosses Horse Lick and that the hole is down streaam about a half mile up on the left side about a rock`s throw from the creek. I would say that if you were at the Cat Hole you could throw a rock to the creek rather than the other way.
