I'm doing this from memory, so I may have to change something when I get out my records later at home. My gr-grandmother was Florence Dills Cain, b. 1871, Harrison County, KY. Her father was John C. Cain born in New York, I'm thinking 1850. On one of the census records (can't remember which one right now) he states he was born in NY and his father was born in Ireland and I believe his mother was born in Pennsylvania. For some reason, I think I have looked at the name Thomas in New York census and believe it to be connected. I haven't been able to get back further than John C.
