I think we are probably talking about the same people here. My Grandfather Godfrey G. Gabbard was the son of Jacob "Black Jake" Gabbard, according to the information that I have. Godfrey also had a son named Jake. They came to Oklahoma in the early 1900s. It was a fairly large family. Godfrey died in 1919. My Dad never talked about his family very much and now when I really would like to have some questions answered, there is no one left to ask! I have seen the name Godfrey Isaacs before and while I am fairly sure there is some connection, I am not sure just how. Godfrey was not a name that was used that frequently in any of the families that I have looked at. Please email if there is any information that I have that might be of use to you.
