Sherry, I am so glad you brought up the DNA proof. Of course, like most other Bowlings, I have heard all my life that we were descended through Pocahontas. It doesn't bother me in the least that we are not. All I would like to have is the real proof of how we came to this country and who our ancestors were that came and where from. Through the DNA, we do have an idea of from whom we descend but no documentation that I have heard of. If anyone knows of any proof other than DNA, please let me know. Harley and I both descend from Jesse Bolling through his son Elijah Bowling and have been to Elijah's gravesite. We both proudly carry the Bowling name.
