He was the son of Laura Campbell Cox and Perry G. Cox. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alma McIntosh Cox; one son, James H. Cox Jr. (Joanna), Versailles, KY; one daughter, Joyce Cox Jeffiers (Marcen), Columbia, TN, and five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sat., from 4-8 pm at Scharrer-Hardy-Close Funeral Home, Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Graveside services and burial will be Sunday at 1 pm at New Zion Cemetery in Jackson County, KY.
