Surnames: Hammons, Hammond, Hammonds, Hammans Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5AB.2ACE/3092 Message Board Post: Searching for any info on Mary Hammond(s) of Clay, Owsley, Jackson Counties, KY., born abt 1796 in South Carolina. She first appears as head of household in Clay County in 1830. She appears in each census thereafter through 1870, still head of household in each. She has childern from 1828 until 1838, listed as Franky (female), Arthur, Calista, and Jeff. Her last location in 1870 was Grayhawk and I believe she was always in that area around McKee and it was just the county boundries that were changed. I can't seem to connect her to the Hammons in Knox County nor the ones in Morgan/Montgomery County. She is a real mystery. Does anyone have a connection to this strong Lady? Carl Hammond
