Born April 4, 1886, in Owsley County, Ky. First married to Liza Jane Cook, decease. second marriage Nannie Madden, who survives. Was a member of Blackwater Baptist Church No. 2. He has one daughter, Mrs. Goldie Kilburn, Tyner, Ky.; two sisters, Demie Vaughn, Sand Gap, Ky., Ida farmer, Hamilton, Ohio; one brother, James Smith, Tyner, Ky.; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services 1 p.m. Monday, June 7 at Justice and Lakes Funeral Chapel, by Rev. Harold Becknell and Rev. Johnny Moore. interment in Flannery Cemetery, Mummie, Ky.
