Cmon troops, I know someone out their has done research on this so am resending to the list. I did not get one reply. Please, if you know anything, let me know. Sorry for the re-post! Am researching Martha Brockman born about 1872 (possibly 29 Apr 1869 per another researcher). This Martha was married to Joseph T. Carpenter in Jackson Co on 8 Aug 1894. Some say she was not divorced to Joseph but died in or about 1900 and buried in the Brockman Cem on Gravel Lick Rd. If so, she is in an unmarked grave or just not recorded in the Cem Book. I found a marriage of a Martha Brockman to John Johnson on 9 Mar 1899 in Jackson Co. I believe this to be the same Martha that md Joseph T. Carpenter. Why? I found a Martha Johnson on 1900 Horselick, Jackson Co, KY census Pg 188A between her brothers and her 2 Carpenter kids were living each with a brother of Martha's. Martha in 1900 has a son with her William A. Brockman (must have been illigit) and another son Burgess Johnson. However, she lists on 2 kids and 2 alive. Joseph T Carpenter in 1900 lists his marital staus as W for widowed. As does Martha which makes sense since John Johnson is not with her after o! nly a year of marriage. I believe the Martha I am looking for is buried with her son Burgess Johnson out at Kerby Knob. Sidenote: Martha Brockman Carpenter had a brother Burgess, too. Has anyone researched this family or know older folk that may have info. this is driving me nuts. Thanks, Rod Carpenter
