She tells me that our grandfather (who we did not know) was Jacob J. Gabbard, son of Godfrey Gabbard and Lavernie (for Lavernia?) of Owsley County Kentucky. Godfrey Gabbard was born approx. 1865 and died in Mountain View, Oklahoma in 1919. Their children were Jacob J., Sarah, Elizabeth (Lizzie), Isaac (Ike), James Henry (who lived in Lindsey OK and probably died there), Perry Boyd, Grace, and Theodore (Ted). This information came from Wilda Gabbard Blankenship who was the daughter of James Henry. We have not confirmed the above yet.

Does the name Isaac Newton Cain appear on their tree ? He was born in MO on 5/3/1836. His father is James and there may also be a brother named James. He married Della Robertson of Orange, NC. The Cains, Newtons and Robertsons seem to have intermingled so much that it's hard to follow.
