What about Wilson or Callahan? Or Wood/s? I'm from them as well. I was born & raised on Pond Creek, at Peoples. Where did your Dees ancestor live in Jackson County? I found a Dees family living near what was in later years our farm at Peoples. I was once married to Wilbern Dees of Oklahoma City & Shawnee, OK. I found his Dees ancestor was a brother of Mark who went to Clay County KY. Can't recall his given name at the moment. His line went to IN or IL, then down into AR and OK. It is so fascinating to learn all these interesting things about the old timers. About blew my mind when I found that Dees family living in Jackson County so close to where I would be born a few years later !! Happy to find a bunch of "new" cousins !! Joyce

I think John "Doc" Sims was born in Tennessee in 1827 the son of Randolph Sims and Cealia Bartee, I think that John "Doc" had a brother named Ransom Sims (He was also in Russell Co. Va. on the 1850 census) they spelled it Symms on the census. I spoke with descendents of this Ransom Sims and they are certain that they were brothers. One of them told me that Celia Died when John was small and Randolph Sims married a much younger woman who didn't want a ready made family so he sent the boys off to live elsewhere. I think that Ransom was raised by Zachariah Fugate sr. (type in his name in a search and it should bring up his will he mentions Ransom Sims in the will and leaves him a horse, saddle, and bridle.) I don't know who raised John"Doc" but it is family history that he learned his Doctor trade from family member. and there were several Sims Doctors. so who knows? oh Randolph Sims can be found in Carter Co. Tennessee Cousin Jack Sims

I can tell you this much, Henry Gabbard and Barbara Hunsucker (I have her father Abraham's pension application if you'd like a copy), had sons (among others) named Jacob (my line) who md Elizabeth Wood, and Isaac Hugh who married Jane Isaacs. If memory serves me right, Jane was a sister to one of the Godfrey Isaacs. There is a huge Isaacs file on line you might find by going to google.com Isaac Hugh & Jane Isaacs Gabbard were ancestors of my fathers 1st wife. I am cousins by blood of my half siblings -lol Not only through the Gabbards, but also through the same Moore family. Do you also have a Moore line? Or Wilson? Do not be surprised if they show up somewhere. Oh, and also Bowman. As you said in another post, probably related in more than one way !! Best, Joyce
