    2. Roaten E Hinson Jr
    3. My gggreatfather George W Henson b 1799 NC and his wife Anna Forbis-Henson sold their last 50 acres in Jackson Co KY in 1859 to a John EVANS. George W and Anna Henson moved to MO and were found in the 1860 Webster Co MO census as George 'Hanson'. I noticed that Anna's older sister Elizabeth Forbis-Porter and Elizabeth's husband Harrison Ross Porter were found in the household of Elijah EVANS and his wife Matilda Moore-EVANS (who married June 05, 1820 Knox Co KY) per the 1850 Laurel Co KY Census. Sure would like to know how John EVANS connects to the Evans-Forbis-Moore-Henson of Knox/Laurel/Jackson Co KY. Thanks for sharing whatever you can on these 'connected' families. 'R.E.'

    1. Re: Cemetery Headstone
    2. Hi Janet, This is such a wonderful thing you are doing! Here are the sites for the two newspapers in Jackson County : _The Jackson County Times_ (http://www.thejacksoncountytimes.com/) / _The Jackson County Sun_ (http://www.jacksoncountysun.com/pages/front/) . Also, I am forwarding your email on to the Jackson County list. There must be someone out there who could claim this headstone. Thank you so much for contacting me. Cissy ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------- In a message dated 4/6/2006 7:21:39 PM US Eastern Standard Time, brown794@alltel.net writes: Hi Cissy, I spend a lot of time locating; documenting & archiving cemeteries in Laurel Co. As such, I seem to be a repository for some "strange" items. Yesterday, our Laurel Co. Detention Center Supervisor who cleans old cemeteries called & said he was bringing me a headstone they found in a ditch line. It says: Cindy Marie (no last name) born 1-23-1966 died 4-12-1995 It was found on KY 638 which becomes Terrell's Creek and ends in Anville. I have searched ALL the Laurel Co. cemeteries as well as the local newspapers for this person. Is there anyone in Jackson Co. I could contact who would help find where this belongs? I looked for a website for the Jackson Co. newspaper but didn't find one. I will gladly email a picture of this. It's about 24" wide & 14" tall.
