Surnames: Jackson, Helton, Fletcher, Turner, McGee or Magee Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5AB.2ACE/2694 Message Board Post: I have a copy of the death certificate for Zachariah Jackson who was the son of Benjamin Franklin Jackson and Esther "Hetty" Helton. He died in Jackson County, KY, on 2 Sept 1922 and is buried in "Swinney Gap" based on a scribbled note on the death certificate. Information for death certificate was provided by Robert McGee, son-in-law, who married Clara Jackson. Are they also known to anyone in the area? Information on this whole family would be appreciated. Is that the real name of the cemetery? And are either of his wives, Amanda Jane Fletcher Jackson and Jane E. Turner Jackson, buried with him? If so would like to know. Is it possible that his father is also buried in same cemetery? Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Jackson died in Jan 1862 in Jackson County, KY, but don't know where he is buried and would like to know. Thanks for your help.
Sandy, I should make a hard fast rule that I only answer request from people who give me a mailing address. My reason is that if I make a search I usually find more information than I have time to hunt and peck type. I made an exception in your case because I was pretty sure that I knew who Alpha MIller was. In my family files I foungd the pension file of Civil War Veteran, Jacob MIller. From the information in the file I had prepared four pages of information. A pamphlet containing those four pages is on my desk waiting for you to e-mail me a mailing address or ship me a rather large carrier pigeon. Bond, Kentucky in 1920 was a large sawmill town with a railroad, lots of jobs, restaurants, barber shops, even a bank. Near by was a large boarding school, Annville Institute where I attended the 6 and 7th grade in the 1930`s, just after the mill, the largest east of the Mississippi River, had moved away. >From where we lived seven miles away you could hear the mill whistle blow at five o`clock, quitting time. People used that to set their clocks. So we all keptBond Mill whistle time. When I was three years old my mother missed me at supper time. I was found at the head of the hollow behind our barn headed in the direction of that whistle. Andrew Baker. Hopefully others will NOT continue to disseminate such a fairy tale. This MARY has never been identified as to her Parents. This MARY was not a child of ROBERT Bolling 1646-1709 or his son (Col.) JOHN Bolling of Cobbs, or a child of (Major) JOHN Bolling 1700VA. Everyone suspects this MARY / MOLLIE BAKER was a Bolling because of a passage by Lyman C. Draper writings. This MARY is not a child of BENJAMIN Bolling 1734-1832.

Also, when were they born and dates of death? Wandering because I have seen several instances of Robert Bolling and Anne Stith as Mary's parents-- she was youngest, and some with her not included? Await your reply [email protected] Thanks.

I am not sure if this is the same Polly Herd that is being discussed. "My" Polly married John Farmer in Jackson County in 1857. Polly was John Farmer's second wife. Is there any connection???

In the Hudson Cem. on Kerby Knob Rd., is the grave of B. W. Centers born 21 May 1887 and died 18 April 1908. In the Powell co. newpaper "The Clay City Times" about 1905 is this: Henry Sons and wife spent Sunday with B. W. CENTERS and wife. We are wondering if he was a young son of Berry Senters/Centers also buried in Jackson co.in the Harrison Co. Cem on Hisel Rd. Berry was married four times: 1886 Rebecca Meadows, 1890 Emily Lewis, 1893 Susan Lainhart, 1897 Mary Rogers. The first three marriages were in Powell co., the last in Jackson co. Can anyone help me with the mystery of B. W. Centers?? Thanks Marilyn Craig [email protected]
