Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5AB.2ACE/438.470 Message Board Post: i have pennington ancestors from clay and madison counties, i am not sure if any were from jackson co. my grgrgrandfather was named levi pennington born 1807 in north carolina - died in kentucky.his father was either aaron or abel pennington the other i think was a brother. both were born , i believe within 7 years of the other, approx 1780 in north caroilina died 187? in kentucky. levi's son ( not sure how many children he had ) was my gr- grandfather, samuel pennington 1848-???? born & died in ky. one of samuel's children was my grandfather, felix pennington. my grandmother gave him the middle name of lee when they got married in 1911, he had no middle name before that. felix p. was born in 1898 he owened pennington grocery store all of my mothers life from 1925 until in 1950 he broke his back putting in a coal shoot in his middletown near berea. he died in 12-1960. he died in berea, madison co. in january of 1960 in the berea cemetary. there are several penningtons bur! ied there.berea college has pics of berea cemetary and on their website i was able to get information off the tombstones from someone that has a link on that site. would like to see if we can link our penningtons together and see if we are distantly related. She definitely was born 2/6/1864 in Williamsburg, KY. Her father's name was Jack Byrd or Bird of VA and her mother was Nancy or Nannie Richmond (also of VA). Her brother was definitely Jack Wiley Bird of Byrd. He married a Ruth Perkins. Does this fit in with your Birds? Peggy

She was born 1831 in Knox County, Tennessee. Jess Hurst also married Martha Barger in 1879. Martha was born in 1855.

Two step-children, Deany Brown, Loveland, Ohio, Samantha Brockman, Hamilton, Ohio, one sister, Della Mae Harrison, Waneta, one brother, Hue Riddle Harrison, Berea, 35 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Justice and Lakes Chapel by Rev. Albert Rose and Rev. Jim Sandlin. Burial was in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetary under the direction of Justice and Lakes Funeral Home.
