She was Deborah Lynn "Debbie" SERGENT CREECH b. abt. 1862 and from Harlan Co., KY. She was married to John Major CREECH who died in Harlan Co. in the 1930's. After John M. CREECH's death in 1930, Debbie went to live with her daughter, Ida CREECH who had married to an Irvin SMITH in 1903 in Harlan Co. They moved to Jackson Co., KY at some point. When Debbie CREECH died in 1946, it is said she was brought to Harlan Co. from Jackson Co. where her funeral services were held. Then her remains were returned to Jackson Co. where she was buried somewhere. Has anyone seen or do they know of such a grave? I would assume she was buried in the same area that her daughter, Ida CREECH SMITH and her husband, Irvin SMITH later on were buried. Any leads appreciated. Joyce Taylor Collins La Palma, CA

Grave marker reads: NEELEY (pic of dove) REST IN PEACE JAMES NEELEY OCT. 18, 1881 JAN. 5, 1959 GOD IS MERCIFUL There was flowers on the grave, one says Father on it. The grave next to it is Mary(Mother) and Elisha(Stepfather) Gipson. Both are of white marble stones. Hope to hear from you soon. Connie

My gr gr grandfather William Brewer married Mary "Polly" Neeley daughter of Harrison J. "H.J." and Jane Bishop-Neeley. My Gr Uncle Stephen Emanuel King married Elisabeth Neeley parents unknown. That is just to name a few. They are all in Clay, Jackson, Owsley Counties. The Neeley/Neely's are all over my family tree but I'm at a stand still with them. There is a cemetery across from the Maulden Church on Rt 1709 in Clay County, Kentucky called the Neeley Cemetery. My mother said it was because the first person buried there was a Neeley. I took pictures of the grave markers and I know we have to be related in some way but I have no idea how. There is alot of unmarked graves too. I just thought I would let you know I'm having trouble with the Neeley's. If any of these people ring a bell please let me know and I do have more. Connie
