It says that she was 77 in 1880 and I assume that her husband was already gone. Thanks, Kristi. Martha Sue See-Miller was my great great grandmother.

    2. Hi Cosetta, Looks like you have your "Abel's" mixed up :-) I'm not sure who the Abel is who built the house at Sand Gap but I know he's not mine. I believe Dallas Fox has a photo online that he took of that home ......are you out there Dallas? Abel B. Gabbard b. 1861, m. Almeda Peters. He is s/o William Gabbard and Rachel Elizabeth Johnston. Abel B. is my gr-grandpa. He died 1952 and they are both burried in the Gabbard cemetery at Parrot (Letterbox) KY. Their daughter Lillie was my grandma. My dad grew up in Letterbox where his grandpa built a home and church off Blacklick Rd. There is nothing there now but rubble and I've visited there several times. Almeda died in 1938. Abel B. was never married to anyone else and they lived entire lives at Letterbox. There are at least two other Abel's if I remember right from what Ira Gabbert wrote me. I've decided she probably remarrried in another county near where she was raising her children since there were so many it would of probably been more difficult to travel and get married with all of them. At this time we do not know who she married we only know from older family members that have passed now that she did remarry sometime after 1905. Orlena BLACK Cundiff Possilby used Laura Thanks T

Surnames: Brewster or Bruster Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5AB.2ACE/129.1 Message Board Post: I have the following information on William and Nancy Brewster. (I think the wife's name Milly in the 1850 census was an error; she is Nancy in the 1860 and 1870; also, her son Skillen Brewster named his first child Nancy. That Nancy's granddaughter Winnie Gussie Napier recalled her grandmother telling her she was named after her grandmother.) 1850 Harlan Co., KY census, p. 16: William Brewster 50, Milly 43, Susanna 18, Jane 15, Skillen M. 11, Patience 8, Mary A. 5. (There is no James nor William Morgan among the children.) 1860 Owsley Co., KY census, p. 297B: William Bruster 58 b. VA, Nancy 52 b. VA, Patience 15 b. KY, Mary 13 b. KY; living next door to their son S.M. Brewster & his wife Mary. 1870 Jackson Co., KY census, p. 244: William Brewster 69, Nancy 65, Patience 30. (Parts of Owsley Co. taken to form jackson Co. in 1868) William and Nancy are not found in 1880 census, and their unmarried daughter Patience is living with her sister Mary (married to Ward Creech) in 1880; thus it is assumed William and Nancy died between 1870 and 1880). William & Nancy's only son Skillen (was Skillen possibly Nancy's maiden name?) married Mary McDaniel in 1860 and they had 11 children. Here are the census records for that family: 1870 Clay Co., KY, p. 181: Skillen Brewster 29, Mary 26, Nancy 9, Doctor F. 7, John 5, Seally 3, William 5 mos. 1880 Clay Co., KY census, Bull Skin Twp, p. 515B: Skillman Breuster 39 bp VA, parents' bp VA; Mary wife 36, b. KY, parents b. KY; Nancy J. 19, Frank A. 17, John 15, Selah 13, William 11, Elizabeth 10, Sarah 7, Henry 3, Thomas 8 mos. Skillen Brewster died in 1889.
