Also, there was full blooded Cherokee in this line as well. All I know is Iva Magdalene Brown was the daughter of Elic Morton Brown and Mary Jane Lenning Brown. Elic's parents are Martha Smith Brown and Jim Brown. Elic was full blooded Cherokee (from what I am told) and Mary was Irish. Also, a Hubert Brown signed Elic's death certificate, so I am guessing by some additional reseach that he was the son of Elic and Mary, brother of Iva. I am waiting on the death certificate of Mary Jane Lenning Brown, but that will go a different direction anyhow. Iva's daughter gave me all the information that her mother left her. Her mother was vague about her family and was not close to them. I am also told that the Cherokee tribe originated in North Carolina, however, I don't know when they moved to KY. Elic was born in Hopkins Co., so I need to go further back. I get lost in the Cherokee rolls. Any help is greatly appreciated.
