I am a decendent of Gen. James Ray of Fort Harrod - Shawnee Springs area. His daughter Jane (married to Benjamin Wilson) may have been in your area. Gen. James Ray's son Dr. John Ray was located in Madisonville area. He is the author of two letters in the Draper Mss collection on his father's history. Other son's of Gen. James Ray by previous marriage to Milly Yocum are William & Jesse Ray also in the Henderson-Madisonville area. Their cousins were McGary's also early settlers in your area. Gen. Ray's daughter (Lucinda Ray) married an unknown Frost and inherited 200 acres in the "Henderson Tract" on the Green River in this area as well. I have reference to a Lucinda Ray Lee and her attorney in fact a John T. Frost in a letter from the 1850's. Any help on any of these folks would be appreciated. We have quite a bit of information on the Ray family of Mercer Co. KY, and willing to share.
