Note: The public records of Hopkins County indicate that Joshua Hanks had 3 brothers & 2 sisters who lived in Hopkins County, Kentucky. Elizabeth who married Russell Gray Aug. 20, 1809 Thomas who married Chaherine(Catherine) Beck Aug.5, 1812 Sallie who married Zachariah Clinton Oct.11, 1821 Nathan Hanks who married Seeny Henry Mar. 4, 1821 John Hanks, no record of marriage. They together were the founders of the Hanks family in Hopkins County.......My guess is the Gatlins & Hanks traveled together from N.C. to Tn. to Ky.
