I spent five days in Va (March 20-24) and 3 more in NC. Sir Thomas came to Virginia about 1638. The information I have gathered has him with a son name Charles who married Jennie Ross. They had a son named James who married Mary Blackburn. I have found two different people having Gabriel as the son of James. One of them had Gabriel born during 1709. Would this be possible? While at the Powhatan's court house I found that Powhatan didn't become a county until 1777.
