He was from hopkins co.,ky., name george william vinson. his father was also from hopkins co. area; we think he also was george william vinson. i do not know anything else about my vinson branch background. nothing on greatgrandfather,etc. i have always been told that there was cherokee indian ancestry on the vinson side of the family. any clues to my branch of the vinson's would be very much appreciated.
