I received Elic's death certificate, and it lists his father as Jim (James probably) Brown, and his mother as Martha Smith. I have Mary's death certificate, and it lists her father as Jack Lenning and mother as Mary Adkins. I am sure there is a connection here somewhere. How were you able to get that info? I am having so much trouble researching the Cherokee history. Thanks!

She had a brother who may have been called "Doc". She was married in 1898 to George Moore and had a son: George, Jr. She also had a daughter named Stella, but I'm not sure if George Moore was Stella's father, or if she was the the daughter of Susan's next husband: Lorenzo (Ren) Jewell. After Susan married Lorenzo, she had at least 3 more children: Dellaree (Jean) Jewell, b. 1907, Marianne, b. 1911, and Jesse Lee. b. 1913. The info I have on this family is from the Henderson Death Index and website, and family folklore. I'm at a brickwall after years of searching. I'm trying to verify Nephenin Galloway's name, and to find any other data regarding this family. They resided around the Henderson, Ky. area. Does anyone know anything about this family? Thanks, Cheri

When I go to Ky births, all I get is the "Download Net Detective" page. Am I hitting the right link? Sue Carpenter
Sue, I had problems with this at first also. A suggestion I got from another listmember, and it works, is to decrease the font size of your web page. I had to decrease it down to a 10 then I was able to see the small link in the lower right hand corner that says, Begin. Hope this helps Ken At 09:33 AM 12/08/2001 -0500, you wrote: >When I go to Ky births, all I get is the "Download Net Detective" page. Am >I hitting the right link? > >Sue Carpenter >

If they came to the county with the Lovan/Lovings, perhaps they were enumerated in the household with them as well. Also checked 1850 index and no Tucker's then either. Good luck, nt
I have just uploaded the columns I've received from Ann Gipson on Earlington. Sorry for delay in getting them up. Once I get my strength back and feel up to it I want to contact the folks that write the columns for the other little towns in the county and see if they won't share their columns as well. I so enjoy these stories. http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyhopkin/towns/earlington/ Enjoy! Thanks again Ann... appreciate the contribution to the county page. Best, nt

Just the name(s) will be great. Perhaps the elusive George David Tucker (born 1769) and wife Nancy (Hartley) traveled there about 1817 from Burke (present Caldwell) County, NC, with Loving in-laws known to have settled in Hopkins. Thanks for your generosity in helping. Happy holidays! Sarah
