    3. Sorry Folks... but I hate to inform you that the message regarding the virus "sulfbank.exe" is a HOAX!!!!! Go to the following website and paste in the words SULFNBK.EXE - in the search field: http://search.symantec.com/custom/us/query.html I think you should read the following before you delete sulfbank.exe or you might cause problems to your computer: SULFNBK.EXE is a program which comes with the Windows 95/98 operating system and can be used to backup and restore long filenames. Everyone that checks for this file will find it, as it comes with your operating system! Although it is possible for the file to be infected by a virus, it has also been the subject of a hoax which has been distributed in several languages. Some versions of the hoax describe the suspect file as being called FNBK.EXE rather than SULFNBK.EXE SULFNBK: A hoax... Sophos has received a large number of calls from users concerned about a virus known as SULFNBK or SULFNBK.EXE. There is a warning message being distributed around the net (in various languages) telling users to search their hard drives for a file called: SULFNBK.EXE If they find it - the warning tells them - delete it because it is infected by a virus which may trigger on June 1st (other versions say the 25th of May). Sophos advises users to treat the warning with scepticism. Most computers do have a legitimate uninfected version of SULFNBK.EXE on them because it is a program which comes with Windows 95/98 to backup and restore long filenames. Deleting the file may in fact cause your computer system serious problems. Sophos offers users confused by the hoax warning and the virus, the following advice: 1.If you receive an unsolicited executable file in your email (such as SULFNBK.EXE), simply delete the email. You should never launch or open unsolicited executable code on your computer. 2.Existence of a file called SULFNBK.EXE on your hard drive is not evidence in itself of a virus infection. The best way to check for a virus infection is with anti-virus software. 3.Run a quality anti-virus product and keep it updated to protect against the latest threats. 4.Do not pass on virus warnings to all of your friends. Instead, check the facts at an anti-virus website, or forward the warning to the person in your company who is responsible for virus protection so they can decide if it is valid. Important Many virus hoaxes falsely claim to describe an extremely dangerous virus use pseudo-technical language to make impressive-sounding (but impossible) claims falsely claim that the report was issued or confirmed by a well-known company ask you to forward it to all your friends and colleagues As usual, you are urged not to pass on warnings of this kind, as the continued re-forwarding of these hoaxes simply wastes time and emailbandwidth. 2. This is a hoax!!!!!! If you delete this from your computer you will have more problems trying to reinstall this important folder. Fear runs virus and hoaxes faster than anything else. Look ed at what you are doing!!!!! What a chain letter approached that these hackers do. I am amazed that it took a week to run from GenMassachusetts-L@rootsweb.com to this rootsweb. Look under archives and read the scare that it instill there until someone who was smart contacted the Virus Programs MFG to set the truth. I deleted my copy of the article. But you can always bring it up by archives.
