My gg gfather was Benjamin Thomas HICKLIN. The son of Lucinda KNIGHT and Avery Madison HICKLIN. They were d by 1850. And in the Livingston and Crittenden co books as evidenced by Brenda j Jerome books in the public library, were other HICKLINs mentioned. Is interesting to say the least. BT m Mary Jane TRUITT. Her father was an md. Thanks anyway. I never had any brothers. And one of my sisters has 2 daughters, the other one has an adopted dau. So their is no one to carry on the name. My dad's brother, never had any children. I am the one trying to find my KY family. My paternal gf d in CA 1940-1950. I was told that a Melvin in Hopkins co is related somehow to me. All of us that have been researching the Tapp line show William Tapp's 1st wife as Elizabeth Lunsford or Fowler and 2nd wife as Rebecca Fowler. I received an email today that says this is wrong, that she was Elizabeth Doggett the daughter of Bushrod Doggett and Nancy Ann Stripling of VA. and told me to "See the Doggett website maintained by Jim Doggett." http://www.doggettfam.org Might want to check it out and I would be interested in hearing what others think. And YOU, Mr. Bourland, are to be commended. I plan to take a page from your book and follow the steps you have taken. How awful to think that someone who loves us could not respect how we've spent such an enormous amount of time and energy. And that they might totally disregard the fount of information gleaned, the friends made and kept, the experiences of many libraries and reference rooms, the absolute sheer enjoyment we receive from this terrific pasttime, hobby, lifework, etc......whatever one chooses to call the work of genealogy. Again, my compliments to you for your foresight!!! Bev
Still off topic.....but I HAD to reply. Hey guys....it was all I could do to read to the end of the letter!!!! Talk about mental cruelty. You, Nancy, my pal, my friend, are in for it now! Love, Bev P.S. Love you anyway!
