    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: WOLF, MEREDITH, SETTLES, ADAMS, HEDRICK, LIVINGSTON Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4AB.2ACE/5065 Message Board Post: Would like to have information on a William Settles and a Josiah Settles who married Pryscilla Wolf and Mary Ann Wolf. Josiah and Mary Ann Settles must have moved from Hopkins Co., to AR when a large Wolf family delegation moved in 1818-1820. He had a son also named Josiah, but he himself must have died by 1821 or so in Arkansas. Would like to know his parents or siblings names and data. Prysciall and William Settles stayed in KY in the Bowling Green area. They had three children. Would like to know his parents names and who his siblings were. The widow Settles married in AR to a Mr. Adams who was also from Hopkins County area and he had gone to AR with his brother who was married to another Wolf sister. The Wolf girls were the daughters of Michael and Mary Magdalene Catherine Hedrick Wolf. Capt Wolf served in the KY Malitia having his own unit. He and his wife and other family members moved to AR when their oldest son, Major Jacob Wolf, was named to serve as India! n Agent to that area of AR. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: WOLF, MEREDITH, HEDRICK, SETTLES, ADAMS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4AB.2ACE/5064 Message Board Post: Would like to have a list of the children of the Samuel Meredith as listed on the 1807 Hopkins County Tax Roll. In 1809 a Milly Meredith married to Jacob Wolf, son of Michael and Mary Magdalene Catherine Hedirck Wolf. The couple was married by the Rev. John Bourland. The marriage record does not provide a name for Milly's parents or even what her true given name was. Please contact dbton@yahoo.com if you have any clue as to who she was or who her parents were. The Mr. Samuel Meredith was the only Meredith listed on the tax roll of 1807 so perhaps he was her father. If you have any data that I can examine, I would appreciate it.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/4AB.2ACE/773.128 Message Board Post: I have a good puzzle for you. Can you please pass this around and see if anyone can help me identify the "O.E. Davis" refer to below: Excerpt from: Portrait & Biographical Record of St. Clair County, Illinois. Chicago: Chapman, 1892, pages 249-250. Obtained from the St. Clair County Genealogical Society, PO Box 431, Belleville, IL 62222-0431 "Our subject (Grace Lander) was the eldest of the children of the second marriage of her father (Henry Lander). She was born in Christian County, Ky., October 21, 1834, and that was her home until she was nineteen years old. She was educated at private schools until her marriage, which occurred in Kentucky in 1852, to O.E. Davis, a Kentuckian, a cousin of Jefferson Davis, and who lived but six months after marriage. One child was the result of this union, Harry Davis, who now holds the position of Police Magistrate in East St. Louis." Harry Davis (refered to above as son of O.E. Davis) was my mothers grandfather (I have pictures of him and clock form magistrates office) and is actually Henry William Davis. His death certificate identifies his father was William Davis and mother as Grace Lander both from Kentucky. Is it possible that this Orlando Earl Davis is my "O.E. Davis"?
