Can anyone on this list recommend an individual who could check the parish records at Immaculate Conception church in Earlington for me for a fee? I am looking for birth entries from the late 1800s and have exact dates. I am assuming the records are open to the public. Thanks. gary@genesisnetwork.net
Researching: Do you have any Carpenter or Sullivan connections with your SISK? I am researching Andrew Carpenter, born 1872, Hopkins Co?, married Mary Ellen Sullivan 1892 at the Catholic Church in Hopkins Co., KY. I know there is a Sisk/Carpenter connection somewhere, maybe not a marriage, but through a Mable Fagan. Would appreciate info. Will share what little I have. Sue P Carpenter
Sandi my problem with Mary Sisk is I cannot find who her parents are. There were several Mary Sisk's born about 1844 in Hopkins County but no one who has researched any of these Mary Sisk families have one married to an Orville Ashby. Anyone who has researched Orville Ashby's families do not show the parents of Mary Sisk. This is probably because of the same problem I am having...TO MANY MARY SISK's!!! :-). She could be the daughter of Rutherford and Susan or she could be the daughter of William F. SIsk and Nancy Dellinger. Can't remember offhand other possibilities. Walter Jamerson has been a serious brick wall for me. I have tried to research who his parents are for about a year now with no luck at all. Sallie Jamison is about as close to a possibility to being maybe a sister to Walter as anyone I have found especially in Hopkins County. Sallie marrying Commodore Ashby is another reason I think she and Walter could be related. Walter married Rhoda Sen Ashby who is a first cousin to Commodore. I have Walter's death certificate unfortunately the informant who was a nurse did not know Walter's parents names. Sorry to hear about the fire. Looking forwards to hearing more about Sallie and her family. Kristie Setser
