Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/4AB.2ACI/275.1 Message Board Post: I have a "Mary McDowell, died Sept. 1877" listed in the records of the Sulphur Fork Baptist Church 1801-1910, Campbellsburg, Henry Co KY. This record was published in Vol XVI, September 1991, No. 3, starting on page 1 of the Quarterly Review, published by the Henry County Historical Society. There were no other McDowells and no Stones in this record. In another record of this church (from 1826-51) hand copied by Emma DeWitt Voorhees Meyer there is a "Fantleroy Dowdell" L 1825 Feb". She noted these hand written records were faded and hard to read so possibly this was "McDowell" . Many of these names had D L written after them and Mrs. Meyer wrote that this meant given a letter of dismissal but she didn't say what just L meant. Hope this helps. Adele
