Our Jacob was born in 1844 and came to Kentucky about 1850 with brother, John, and his mother and stepfather, we believe, names unknown. John and Jacob both were in the Civil War and fought on the Union side from Kentucky. Their families grew up in Kentucky. The 1870 Henry County, Kentucky Atlas showed they were from Hesse, Germany. If you think any of this could match up to your family, I will be glad to share our information.
