Does anyone know how far back the archives for the local Henry County newspapers go? Was the Henry County Local being published in the late 1800's and early 1900's? I would like obituary lookups from 1895 and 1907, if they exist. Or if not obituaries, at least a mention of the deaths in the regional columns. I'm looking for obits or mentions of William Jackson who died in 1895 and Margarett W. Jackson who died in 1907. I can provide the exact dates if needed. Both are buried in Sulphur Cemetery. William was born in 1834 in England. He was a painter by profession. His wife, Margarett (Maggie) was b. in Ireland in 1834. The two of them took in my grandfather, William Henry "Jack" Jackson upon the death of his mother, Mary Pecar Jackson (of Trimble County). His father, Joseph Jackson, was a grocer in both Trimble and Henry Counties. He eventually remarried, in 1910, to Ella O'Donnell, daughter of Patrick O'Donnell, grocer in Henry County. Both Ella and Joseph died in 1922. There appears to be a connection between the Jacksons and the Sparks, the Goflin or Coflin families, and the Caplingers. Thank you from Diane, in KCMO
I am not sure how far back the Henry County Local was published, but you can search the following database to see what ones are on microfilm. You can purchase the microfilm or view it at the University of Kentucky Library. It is available on interlibrary loan. http://lib.uky.edu/repro/ Ed Hill -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, October 04, 2004 11:36 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [KYHenryCo.] newspapers Does anyone know how far back the archives for the local Henry County newspapers go?
