Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/4AB.2ACI/68.1 Message Board Post: james and mahala were found in the owen co. census in 1870 and henry co. census in 1880. my mo. was a thornton. earliest found thornton was john m. thornton born 4-12-1832; died 2-19-07. both of his parents were from ireland. his wife was harriet lewis thornton whose father was fielding lewis. one of their children was henry lewis thornton who married minnie mcdonald. he was known as jack. jack was the father of my grandfather, john marshall thornton. the thorntons were born in henry co. but went on to mainly live in owen or shelby co. do you have pictures of any thorntons such as john or jack.
