Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/4AB.2ACI/157.158.2.2.2.1.1 Message Board Post: The information I have indicates he died in 1835 in Shelby Co. Ky. He fought in the Revolutionary War, but I have no other information about his service. It makes sense though, since he moved to Ky. Most of the Rev. War soldiers were paid in land that was in KY. I found lots of information in the Kentucky Historical Society Library in Frankfort. I don't know where you live, but since you are researching families in KY. it would be worth while visiting the research center there. They have a book "History of the Faure-Fore-Foree Family, originating in the province of Auvergne, France in 1372" by Charles M. Foree that was very good. There is alot of information in the sir-name files. There is also lots of info in the Virginia State Historical Library. I haven't been there yet, but have some of the stuff that is there. I live in Virginia, so I have no reason not to go. There is another Joseph Foree -a son of Silas, who was born about 1805 in Henry County KY. I have no other information on him. My ancestor is Silas' son John Henry Foree, married to Frances Fanny Violett. If you find any information on that family I would appreciate it. Also, any information on Silas' wife - Sarah (Sally) Beasley. Hope this helps. Margaret
