Paul, I am descended from a William Hill who was born in Caroline Co., VA and died in Henry Co., KY. Unfortunately, it is a different Hill family. I seem to remember that the other Hill family in Henry Co. was descended from the same Culpeper Co. family that the Civil War General Ambrose Powell Hill was a member of. The Filson Club in Louisville has some original material (letters, etc.) on this family. It is not in the genealogy section, but upstairs in the archives where they keep original letters, etc. that have been donated. They might be of help. GW was born April 8, 1848, in Owen County, KY and died February 18, 1918, in Owen County, KY. married Bettie Hayden October 30, 1877. GW was a Widower of 8 children and the Pastor of Stamping Ground Baptist Church. GW. Hill and Bettie Hayden's children were 1. Anna Hill 2. Harry Hill 3. Mary Hill 4. Stella Hill 5. George W. Hill, JR. 6. John Leonard Hill known as John L. Hill, Dean of Georgetown College 7. Clara Hill 8. Rachel Hill 9. Thomas Russell Hill known as T. Russ Hill, graduated from Georgetown College at the age of 19 and became the High School Principle and Football coach of Jellico Schools at the age of 21 became the Superintendent of Schools Jellico, Tenn.
