The reason we went there was KY required a three day wait after getting your marriage license but you could get the blood test needed in one day. You had a three day wait on the blood test in Indiana and no wait on the marriage license. Those laws had been in effect a long time according to my grandmother. I am under the impression a lot of people in surrounding areas that bordered the Kentucky and Ohio River in the earlier years went on the river boats to get married there if they lived on the KY side of the river.
