There is a great index to Kentucky Births starting in 1911 available at: http://www.vitalsearch-ca.com/php/tbl_select_txbiygen.php3?server=1&db=vitalsearchca&table=kybirths_99&goto=db_details-a.php3 It's starts in 1911, like the Kentucky Death Index. You can fill in any part of the form and it will open a new window with matching info. The code for Carroll is CARRL, Gallatin is GLLTN, Owen is OWEN, Henry is HENRY, and Trimble is TRMBL. Click on the top of the columns to sort results by that column. On my computer it sometimes skips past the results and fails to open an advertisement and a "cannot display" window pops up. I click on the "back" button in the new window to get the results. The code for Carroll is CARRL, Gallatin is GLLTN, Owen is OWEN, Henry is HENRY, and Trimble is TRMBL. Better take a look at it before the privacy nuts get it shut down, like the one in California was. Or it turns into a fee-based service. I have been receiving a LOT of emails generated by the Bad Trans 32 virus - so this thing is REALLY spreading! I have been receiving it as an attachment to an email with no message text. These attachments should be deleted immediately and never opened. Also, it puts an underscore (_) as the first character of the sender's email address, apparently to disrupt an attempt to reply with a warning. My freshly updated installation of Norton Anti-Virus does, in fact, catch the Bad Trans 32 virus (W32.Badtrans.B@mm). Any anti-virus software must be periodically updated for new virus strains. Most of the popular programs are quickly and easily updated through their respective vendor's web connection. It may take a minute or two with a 56K modem connection. Updates can be scheduled to run automatically; once or twice a month is typical. Also, the software has to be set to scan ALL files, not just executable ('.EXE') files. Bad Trans 32 propagates as a .SCR attachment. To everyone, My sincere apologies and deepest thanks to everyone who emailed me regarding the virus I had on my computer. I have/had Norton anti-virus software, but it did not pick up this strain of Bad Trans 32! Needless to say, Norton is in the trash and I have a new anti-virus software in place! This strain (Bad Trans 32.B) does not attack your address book, instead it goes after ALL addresses of unopened mail! And you do not have to open it! Considering all the lists that I am on, that's a lot of people! I was getting 10 to 20 infected emails a day and guess what... you can have it on your system more than once at a time! Every time I thought I had gotten rid of it, it popped up again! Anyway, it has been an absolutely miserable two weeks! Again, my apologies to all... so sorry this happened! I am searching for any information on some of the Colclaser family who may have lived in or around Henry County about the time of 1830-1850. My Great Great grandmother was Elizabeth Colclaser of Maryland or Pennsylvania. She was evidentley married to James Fox but I have never found a Marriage record for them. They were living in Henry County, KY in 1850 and they had a small family at the time. Any clue at all would be very helpful. Thanks, Marilyn Dawson
Noble Cropper married Nancy Foster in Franklin Co., KY. on about 14 Sep 1802. Nancy was the daughter of Alexander Foster, a Revolutionary War veteran from Pennsylvania. He was later in Rockbridge Co., VA. before going to Kentucky. He died in 1843 in Montgomery Co., Indiana. Noble and Nancy's marriage bond reads as follows: We Noble Cropper and Alexr. Foster are held and firmly bound to James Garrard Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the penal Sum of one Hundred pounds Currant money to be paid to the said Governor or his successors to the true performance of the above we bind our selves, our heirs &c firmly by these presents Sealed with our seal and dated this 14th day of September 1802. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be had and Solomnized between the above bound Noble Cropper and Nancy Foster, of this County now if there is no lawfull cause to obstruct the said Marriage then the above obligation to be Void else remain in full force and Virtue. Teste Nobel Cropper (seal) D. Weisiger Alexander Foster (seal) A. Foster Father to Nancy Foster Noble Cropper was the son of Bela Cropper, but he also had a brother named Bela Cropper and the two are hard to sort out at times. The Croppers were from Worcester Co., Maryland, where land records indicate that Bela Cropper, Snr's. wife may have had the maiden name Cathell (various spellings). Noble Cropper's daughter, Elizabeth M. Cropper, married Benjamin Franklin Browning on 13 Dec 1831 in Henry Co., KY. They were my 4th great grandparents. Steve Loose

My Sarah Ann Cropper married James Tiller about 1839 in Henry County, KY. She was the daughter of Nobel Cropper. Don't know her mother's name. I believe that Sarah Ann died in Logan Co., KY just before 1850. There was also Bela Cropper, don't know if Bela and Nobel were related, assume so. Bela had children who also married in Henry County. Bela and Nobel also lived in Oldham County, just north of Henry. One of these could be your kin. Let me know if any of this matches what you have. We may be kin, too. Bill Carbaugh, Ocala, FL
