John came from Germany in about 1850 with his brother, Jacob, my husband's great-grandfather, and his mother and step-father. John and Jacob both served in the 6th infantry of Ky. in the Civil War. If you would like what information I have on this family I will be glad to share. I do not have any of Catherine's descendants although I believe she lived in Madison, In. and is buried there as well as her mother, Mary. John is buried in a small family cemetery in Lockport, Henry Co., Ky. on the Ky. River. I have pictures of his tombstone. E-mail me direct if you would like more information.

My book will be $90.00, which includes postage. There are two families of Kelly or Kelley and more than one Smith. I have awesome pictures, including Thomas Blackaby, Robert Blackaby and his wife Susan Aldridge, and a photo of their son Robert Preston Blackaby. (all of these families in Henry County, KY) My notes are pretty good and will keep you up reading. Ostensibly I got carried away and the book grew and grew. I always had a thead of doubt about Robert Blackaby being a Blackaby, as he is listed as Blackerby on the census. I could never connect him to the Blackerby (they were living in the same county), but now I have proof positive that he is Blackaby. Good to hear from you.

It will have 649 pages of text and 129 pages of either photo or document. Since my first book is now being called Volume 1; this book will be Volume II, but it will zero in on William Blackerby (from whence the Blackaby, Blackorby name.) This is a 30-year research taking us back to the first Blackerby (from whence the name came) and across the Atlantic. There are lots of notes, census records, stories, documents, etc. Do you know who Blackaby Street in Eminence, Henry County! , KY was named for? It is in the book. 1. Daniel Coleman
    2. Earl Coleman
    3. This message concerns Daniel Coleman, born July 26, 1794, Prince Edward Co., Va who married Margaret "Polly" Durham on Dec 24, 1822 in Casey Co., Ky. The Durham family file in the Casey Co., Ky library contains a family group sheet on Daniel and Polly Coleman. This family group sheet lists the parents of Daniel Coleman as Samuel Coleman and Milly Coffey. There was no mention of who supplied this information. I have two books titled "The Coleman family of Mobjack Bay, Va". The latest book being published by Sherrianne Coleman Nicol in 1998. Both of these books lists the parents of Daniel Coleman as Stephen Coleman and Mary Foree of Henry Co., Ky. Jane Coleman and David Milton Durham, Mary Coleman and John Matthew Hatter, Samuel Coleman and Milly Coffey were all in Lincoln (Casey) Co., around 1800. There is a possibility that Daniel is a son of Samuel and Milly. To change this family make-up, all we need is supporting documents. If any of the Durham or Coleman researchers has any information, deeds, wills, birth or death records, or newspaper articles that would support who his parents are, we would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you, Earl

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4AB.2ACI/250.2 Message Board Post: Hi Bill, I may have some connection to your Henry County Tillers. I am interested in the name Legin? George Leigan (spelled Legan, Liggin, etc) seems to have been married to an Emily Tiller, in Henry County about 1837. In an online genealogy I found a marraige of George Legan to Emily Lillie in 1837, the same George later married Rebecca Hunley (I know this is my family), but judging from the death cert of George's son Ben Franklin Leigan/Legan, I believe the name was actually Emily Tiller. Also of interest, as I just received probate records which showed the heirs of George Leigan, one being a Lucy Tiller, of New Castle Kentucky. (This was in 1892.) I searched the 1900 census for Henry County and came upon a George Tiller with wife Lucy, who well could have fit into the age and time period. I then found on LDS a marriage of a George Tiller to Lucy Logan in Henry County in 1856, name spelling so close, I think a good possibility it was Lucy Legan. Would love to hear from you.! Pat

    2. Thomas Fiske
    3. Dear Listers, I used to be on this list but changed my email address and forgot to re subscribe. I have been badgering the folks on the Trimble Co. list for information about my 2nd great-grandfather, Samuel Pryor. He died in 1833 and is buried in Trimble Co. There was no Trimble in 1833, so Sam was really buried in Henry Co. before it became Trimble. My records (and those of Justice Wm. S. Pryor) show that Sam was sheriff of some county two times. I assumed incorrectly it was Trimble. But it may have been Henry Co. I also suspected that Sam could have been killed while on the job. He had time to write a lengthy will and appoint Wm H. Allen plus his brother, Jack Pryor, as execs. Are there any Henry Co. records for that time period (1825-1833) that would show Sam as sheriff or deputy? Tom whose mother was a Pryor Thomas S.
