    1. Kentucky Birth Index 1911-
    2. William A. Davis
    3. The Kentucky Birth Index online is a wonderful tool to have, but I have a lot of trouble getting to it and others say they have been unable to access it. I don't know what problem others have, but the problem I get is as soon as I get the page I want, it is replaced by another page saying that it is unable to display my page. I believe these are error messages caused by advertisements that are failing to load properly, so to get to where I want I have to either hit BACK to go back to the page I wanted and I have to hit ESC to stop it from trying to load the advertisement that causes the failure message. If you cannot get to it I really can't help you. I can't be at your computer and see what it is that is preventing you from getting access, I can only tell you what works for me. The url has recently changed. To get to it now I go here: http://www.vitalsearch-ca.com/gen/ky/_vitals/kybirths.htm and click ESC to stop further internet loading and prevent the error page from coming up Then I click where it says Searchers Enter Here and on the next page I click on "BEGIN" down in the lower right corner before another error page pops up and that gets me the search form. Sometimes an error page appears and I hit BACK then ESC to stop that error from popping up again, and I hit the BEGIN in the lower right to get to the form. I don't know the current status of proposed legislation that would affect the availability of Kentucky Vital Statistics. I wrote my legislator in opposition to any change that would make the information unavailable. If you can find anything on her, I'd be glad to pay for your time, copies made, or anything else. If she is your Catherine, I'll be glad to make copies of her son's death certificates and mail them to you. Also, her husband, Stewart Wyatt's death certificate if you'd like that too. Her first son, Ira Barnes Wyatt was born 11/02/1886 in Lockport, KY. Also, I have information on the Wyatt family and can find no other names of Ira or Henry so those names might have come from Catherine's side. I guess I'm just grasping at straws, but you never know.

    1. 1930 Census
    2. Lawrence May
    3. Census secrets rule lifted for '30 count Personal records opened by U.S. Associated Press WASHINGTON June Hall moved her finger down the page, found her grandmother's name and smiled. After a half-hour of scrolling through microfilm of personal records from the 1930 census, Hall had hit pay dirt: the line that showed her grandmother's house, the home where Hall was born. Hall joined dozens of people Monday at the National Archives looking to fill in the blanks of their family histories as privacy protection for individual 1930 census records expired. The expiration, 72 years after each census, allows people to see information beyond the dry statistics typically available after the once-a-decade count. "It's a real high. You get into this and you just get hooked," said Hall, of Baltimore. While Hall was not yet born in 1930, she read that her grandmother lived on what was then a dirt road, while her father worked as a salesman and lived at home. Historians billed it as the largest release of such personal records by the federal government, providing a gold mine of genealogical data for family researchers. "We get a picture more revealing than any previous census," John Carlin, archivist of the United States, said before cutting the ribbon to the census research room. "The census is still the most complete record we have in our country at any single point in time," he said. Original 1930 forms have been destroyed, but not before copies were put on 2,667 rolls of microfilm in the 1940s. Those copies were made available at archives headquarters in Washington, and at 13 other offices around the country. The regional facilities are in Anchorage, Alaska; Laguna Niguel and San Bruno, Calif.; Denver; East Point, Ga.; Chicago; Waltham and Pittsfield, Mass.; Kansas City, Mo.; New York City; Philadelphia; Fort Worth; and Seattle. The National Archives' 1930 census site is at http://1930census.ar-chives.gov/. The Census Bureau is at www.census.gov/. Historians said the records would provide a more detailed look at life in America at the dawn of the Depression. The 1930 census date of April 1 came more than five months after the October 1929 stock market crash. "I'm trying to learn more about my father's house and any other things I didn't know about him," said Hunter Alexander, who was scouring records for Baltimore County. All Americans answered the same 32 questions. Some typified the times, such as "Does this household have a radio set?" No forms were mailed. Census-takers visited homes and recorded answers on an answer grid that looked like a giant report card. "I'm trying to finish a family tree," Reggie Green, of Washington, said as he scrolled through Orangeburg County in South Carolina. "This might help fill in some of the branches." http://1930census.archives.gov/ http://www.census.gov/

She married Stewart Wyatt who was born in Barbourville, Knox County, KY April 13, 1853 and died in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY April 12, 1948. Stewart's parents were James Wyatt and Sarah Gregory of Knox County, KY. Catherine and Stewart had two sons. Ira Barnes Wyatt was born in Lockport, KY Nov 2, 1886 and died in Oldham County, KY May 30, 1986 at age 101. Henry S. Wyatt was born in KY Feb 14, 1893 and died in Louisville, Jefferson County KY Dec 4, 1969 at age 76. Ira was the informant on Henry's death certificate. The informant on Ira's death certificate was Mrs. Barbara Guenther. I have no idea who that was. I know this isn't much to go on but please let me know if you find out anything.

I don't have any info on her except both her son's death certificates show their parents as Catherine Heilman and Stewart (or Stuart) Wyatt and they were both born in KY. If we are talking about the same Catherine and she died in Madison, IN, I guess that's why I can't find a death record for her in KY. I have Stewart Wyatt's death certificate and it says he died in 1948 and his wife was named Katherine Reynolds. So he and Catherine Heilman must have divorced and he remarried. Do you have the death date of Catherine? Her second son Henry S. Wyatt was born 2/14/1893. Oh, thanks for your reply.
