Hopkinsville New Era SEVERE ACCIDENT TO A LADY Apr 19, 1879 We are pained to learn that a very serious accident happened to MISS MOLLIE MORTON, of Madisonville, last Sunday while she was on a visit to friends at Earlington. She got on a train at the depot, in company with some friends, to ride to to the 'coal dip,' about a mile distant. On arriving, while in the act of jumping from the train, her clothing caught on the draw head of the rear coach, which caused her to fall heavily upon the track, breaking both bones in the left leg jut above the ankle. Dr. Davis who was at once sent for, set the broken limb, and kind friends gave her all attention possible. She was taken home amonday and we learned on Wednesday was as comfortable as she could well expect to be under the circumstances. Miss Mollie has a host of warmly attached friends in this city who deeply sumpathize with her in her misfortune and suffering.
