Hi Rebecca and Henderson County cousins.... The "Register" citation must refer to the Register of the Kentucky Historical Society, which is one of the society's two publications. If you're close to a large library with a good genealogical collection they might have back issues of The Register, although 1927 is going back a long way. >From the citation it appears the petition is available at the KHS Library, which is at Frankfort in the new Kentucky History Center. I checked Starling's "History of Henderson County" and didn't find any mention of this petition. All Starling says is: "Prior to the formation of Henderson as the thirty-eighth county in 1798, there were but few settlers south of Green River. The first permanent settlement of which any knowledge is had was made above the Red Banks - now Henderson - on Richard Henderson & Co.'s land in the year 1791." It would be interesting to see the names on this petition.
