    3. Hi--yes they did move. Gibson County is in southern IN, right about Posey County and Vanderburgh County (Evansville). Princton is the county seat of Gibson and Mt. Vernon is the seat of Posey. That area is my old teenage stomping grounds. I lived 1/2 mile from where the Posey, Gibson, and Vanderburgh lines meet. Indiana became a state in 1816. Evansville and Mt. Vernon were there before 1816 and I don't know about Princeton. Hope this helps. And Willard Library in Evansville has extensive genealogy collections from the tri-state area.
