Hopkinsville Kentuckian May 1900 A Romance Link Martin Cast a Note from a Car Window and Now He will Wed a Hoosier Girl Owensboro, May 16 - No announcement that will be a surprise to his many firneds is the marriage of Mr. Link Martin, of this city to Miss Mollie Wmer or Morgantown, Ind. The ceremony will take place at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Mary A. Wemer in Morgantown, tonight. Invitations were only received here by mr. Martin's friends yesterday. There is a romance connected with the courtship of Mr. Martin and Miss Wemer that is known by only a very few of his friends. In the summer of 1896 Mr. Martin visited for about a month in Ann Arbor Mich. On his return home he threw a sheet of paper out of the rear window at Morgantown, In while the train was passing thru on which was written: Who ever finds this note will please write to Link Martin, Owensboro, Ky. Miaa Wemer found the note and wrote to Mr. Martin. The correspondence continue for a while and Mr. Martin went to Morgantown to see her. The acquaintance began a courtship which will result in the marriage of the young couple tonight. Miss Wemer visited owensboro three years ago. Mr. Martin left on the afternoon train yesterday for Morgantown. Miss Wemer is spoken of as an estimable and pleasant young lady. Mr. Martin is an industrious and worthy young man and has been successful at his trade, that of a shoemaker. Betty Sellers
