Hi, Just a quick update on our family dead-end (no pun intended)! I have been trying to decipher the biblical inscription on one of our KENNEY ancestors tombstones since we returned from KY. My husband, (the bible scholar) couldn't find the wording that I was looking for in one of the newer bibles, so he went to our oldest bible, my great grandparents. And, much to his surprise, in the middle of the bible there is a note that Tommie LATTA was born Feb. 23, 1851, d March 28, 1885. He and Annie (Dyer) had a child, Lucy b. Sept. 13, 1882, d Sept. 17, 1882. I have been in possession of this bible since 1978! It was my grandfathers , used when he was preaching. I had looked through it, but never used it because it was so old (1884). Instead of the "Family record" being in the front or the back, its between the Old and New Testament! The date of death is one month different from the inscription on the tombstone in Smith Mills Cemetery that someone sent to us, but it is probably the same person. This puzzle is going together!
