Wright about 12 o'clock las tnight. The entire block of ten or twelve business houses was destroyed. W.D. Cox the dry goods and grocery merchant, was the heaviest looser. His loss is $10,000. Other losers were King & Majors, Fred Snyder, J.R. Ramsey, S.F. Powell, Moore & Co., S.F. Mullen, Hampton & Crisell, J.A. Tarpin, T.K. Wilson, Ashby heirs, Fred Shelton and W.R. Clark, in sums ranging from $200 to $3,000. The total loss is about $30,000. The buildings were all frame and there is no insurance on anything. The fire burned half the business portion of the town.
