Hi everyone This really isn't a family question, but just a general knowledge question. I know most nicknames for the Sarahs (Sally), Marys/Mollys (Polly), Elizabeth (Eliza or Betsy), but how do they get Patsy as a nickname for Martha? I had always thought Patsy was for Patricia. But in all the first names I have typed, I have probably less that 10 Patricia and they are modern (this century) names. I'd be rich if I had a dollar for every Sarah, Mary and Elizabeth I have typed. Does anyone know? Thanks and have a great week.
