    3. Hopkinsvilel Kentuckian March 1896 GEORGE DELANEY CONVICTED Morganfield, Ky. March 23 The jury in the Delaney murder trial returned a verdict today giving the defendant six years in the penitentiary. Judge Ellis' instructions were generally regarded as favorable to conviction. Public sentiment is with Delaney, the belief being that Henry Delaney was the real culprit, and an effort will likely be made for a new trial. The cases have b een expensive to the state. Two of the parties implicated are at Eddyville serving their terms. One has finished his term and is now at home. George Delaney and Will Omer have both been convicted at former trials and their cases remanded. Henry Delaney has been acquitted. Tate has never been tried. George Delaney at the former trial received a life sentence and Omer a twenty one sentence. Betty Sellers
