John, Are you aware of the book "The Pikes of Maryland and Kentucky" by Lamarr Hamilton? It traces the descendents of William Pike and Susannah Mills, including their son Stephen Pike and his wife Beatrize Vize. Stephen was the fist Pike to move to Union Kentucky. I am a descendent of son Joseph Pike and wife Sarah Howard. Their daughter Susan C. Pike married Thomas Wight and moved to Union Kentucky in about 1852. I can't say if the book has any more on Martin's disappearance, but the book is pretty well researched. I have found a few errors in some of the in-law lines of Brothers and Gough, but generallly trust his work. Rachel Rose
