March 1896 Hopkinsville Kentuckian Capt. Ellis as Special Judge Hon. W.T. Ellis was in the city last night enroute home from Morganfield where he had been to act as special judge in the George Delaney trial for the murder of Abbie Oliver several years ago. Mr. Ellis ordered the elisor of Union county to summon a venue of 100 men from Henderson and Union counties to appear in the Union circuit court next Monday. A jury will be elected from this panel and the case put on trial. The attorneys on both sides have been notified that they must be ready, as no continuance will be granted. Henderson Journal.
