Hello all, If you are wondering why the RootsWeb Archives disks filled up so quickly and are no longer working, please take a look at what is going on right here on this list. Someone posted this original question last Friday and others have quoted it, according to the '>' signs, at least *7* times thus far. What I have below is a *tiny* portion of the huge list of multiple messages that were quoted and requoted and requoted. The subject line of the original (GUDGEL(L) surname) also no longer has anything to do with the content of the current replies being tacked on to this original! Please keep in mind that netiquette rules suggest using a relevant, descriptive and informative subject line. Also that you cut and paste ONLY THE RELEVANT INFORMATION from a previous message, enough to provide context, and not the whole message. And especially not a whole *series* of messages! All this goes into the archives--seven or more copies of a single query that takes up more space with each successive reply that is added. I personally would prefer to have the space for at least 7 other queries that may provide information or clues for others in the archives. And it's not just a single thread where this is happening--there are a couple going on at any given time. This really eats up disk space quickly when multiplied by hundreds of mail lists. Off my soapbox now.... ;-) Thanks for 'listening'!
