    1. William Price GIBSON in Fernwood Cemetery
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: GIBSON, Duncan, Floyd, Wedding, Turner are my surnames of interest Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3AB.2ACE/3288 Message Board Post: I was just perusing the newly completed listings of Fernwood Cemetery. Way at the bottom there's an entry for William Price Gibson; the lot number for this entry is given as "WPG" and the year buried as 1932. Other people also have"WPG" as their lot entry. What's WPG? I'm very curious about this because I have a William Price Gibson in my line and I'm trying to find a death record, orbituary, newspaper article, etc. for him. The family story is that he died when a logging wagon he was driving tipped over and he was supposedly out "near Onton somewhere". The entry just above his is for William C. Gibson, which coincidently is the same name as William Price's father, although I think my William C. died in 1898 and not in 1921 as implied by the entry. I guess I could order the death record to find out. If anyone knows anything more I'd love to hear it. I would also certainly appreciate a quick look by any local folks out there heading over the cemetery.

    3. Hello and some of the Gibsons married into the Price family down a few counties away in Christian County Ky. Ann Gibson married William Price, she was the daughter of a John Gibson. It sounds like a good chance they are related since some of the early Gibson settlers from Henderson County were living and counted on the Christian County Ky census and obviously related to the others living there. Ironically I forwarded some information just last night to our list about the Gibson-Price-Allen etc. family which I will also send to your email adderess. Also I am going to forward your email to our Gibson Ancestors list since several of them on there are related to the ones in Henderson County Ky. Also feel free to check out our list below as well. 3. There were also Gibsons in Franklin/Woodford Counties from the 1790s. Some of these married Cunninghams from that area. I know that a lot of folks, like my Cunninghams, migrated to Henderson from Franklin/Woodford. According to Ermina Jett Darnell's book, Forks of Elkhorn Church, there were several Gibson families in what is now Franklin County. Some names were: Mrs. Sarah Gibson (daughter of Mrs. Sarah Colquit), who bought land in 1790; William Gibson, Sr. who bought a farm at Duckers that remained in the Gibson family for over 100 years; Henry Gibson and wife Sarah; James Gibson who owned land south of the river; John Gibson who was on Clear Creek in Woodford County in 1807; Samuel and Nancy Gibson who lived near Defoe in Henry (County?) I hope this information is useful to someone.
