I found Charles L. Crabtree born in Lee County, Virginia on December 24, 1874 and dying on May 11, 1927. His father was Walter Crabtree born in Virginia and his mother was Margaret Colston also born in Virginia. He is buried in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson, Kentucky. His wife's name was Tillie. This information is from Death Records 1911 -- 1992 Historical and Genealogical Records of Henderson County, Kentucky Published by James Lincoln Blue and Donald Lee Hazelwood. Subject: [KYHENDER] crabtree Hi, I am helping a gal from a Crabtree line try to find her brick wall-- She is wanting the husband of a Margaret Crabtree-- b. 1836 in VA, died 1910 in Henderson CO., buried in Corbin, KY (Whitley CO?). Margaret was listed on the 1880 census with two young sons, William and Charles-- all b. in VA. Mother and sons were all listed as single. Would anyone have access to info of a Margaret Crabtree dying sometime around 1910, that might give parents or a husband? I did find the family in Whitley CO in 1900, Margaret is listed as 67 and widowed. In 1910 census Margaret and her two sons are in Henderson city, she is listed as widowed. I cannot find her on the KY death records which begin in 1911. Of her two sons, Charles Lee Crabtree died May 11, 1927, vol. 22, #10740 and I cannot find where William may have died. Wm was listed as a lodger (no family) in 1930. I am hoping that death info on Charles might give parents. Thanks so much.
