I have two Powell girls which may be first cousins-- was wondering if anyone can help here-- Sarah "Sallie" Elizabeth Powell-- b. 1842 to Nathan Francis Powell and Elizabeth Barnett. Sallie md Joseph Wm. Eakins (s/o John and Sallie King Eakins) in 1867. Sallie died 1880 in her 36th year-- no mention of any family in her obit. Maria (might be Mary or Mollie) Powell-- b. 1857 to James M. Powell and Matilda. Maria married Joseph William Eakins (s/o John and Sallie above) in 1882. On the marriage record, Joseph is listed as 42, bride is 25 and it is the groom's second marriage. Do these Powell girls fit into the line of Lazaras Powell, if so, how? Thanks. Helen Zuber Keusch

They have change the database a little you could type in a name and it would come up but now you have to scroll down to you come to the name you want. Dorothy Tobler Powell database is pretty reliable but she was wrong when she said my ggggrandfather Henderson Powell son of Willoughby Powell and Mary Whitehead. Henderson Powell Sr. was still living in 1880 in Webster Co.
