My husband descends from Cyrus Oscar Harbourt and Louisa Ellen Byrne (aka Burn, Burns) who married in Daviess Co. Ky in about 1882. Their oldest child was John Leslie Harbourt. Louisa was born in Meade Co KY abt 1855, but her family moved to Curdsville between 1860 and 1870. Her father was Ignatius M. (Miles?) Byrne son of John Byrne and Catherine Hill, both b. in KY but parents from Md. Louisa's mother was Sarah Elizabeth Rhodes, d/o John Abraham Rhodes and Louisia Edelen. I have a great deal of information on the Louisa Byrne line - they descend from Kings/Queens of England, France and nobles of many other countries (through the Hill, Miles, and Gardiner lines] and are also related to Robert Burns, the Scottish poet. On the 1870 cenus in Curdsville , Daviess Co. KY, Ignatius Burns & family were on same page as James Gootee. Also living with them was Charles Hurburt 36, farm laborer. I don't know who he is and how he t! ies in with Cyrus Oscar Harbourt at all. However, there was a Parker Herbert/Hurburt/Hubbard [you see Hubbard sometimes-my husband's nickname was Hub] who married Sabina Reighley, who seems to have either been the same person who married George Gootee or her sister. There was also a "T. Parker Herbert b. 1814 in Campbell Co. Ky who I believe to be a distant relation to my Cyrus Oscar Harbert/Harbourt. T. {Thomas} Parker Herbert was the son of Meredith Helm Herbert who was the son of Thomas Herbert who was the son of Josiah Herbert and Margaret "Peggy" Helm. Josiah b. in NJ , moved to Loudoun Co VA then to KY. I believe, but don't have complete proof yet that Cyrus Oscar Harbourt, son of Israel Harbourt/Herbert b. 1818 VA, was the son of Peter Herbert Jr b. 1783 VA, and that he was the son of Peter Herbert Sr. b. 1744 NJ who came to VA with Josiah Herbert [likely a close cousin] in late 1770s. The connection I still need to link up is that of Israel to peter Jr. Any info! rmation on any of these people would be appreciated.
